JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College men's soccer team defeated Paul Smith's College 6-0 in a non-conference match on Sunday afternoon at Minaert Field. Dominic Caforia (Waterbury, Vt.) scored a two goals and tallied two assists in the win.
1st Half: The Badgers (6-4. 1-1 NAC) took a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute when Collin Campbell (Killington, Vt.) scored off of a pass from Rob Buonanno (Wolcott, Vt.) Johnson picked up their second just five minutes later Caforia received a long ball from Angelus Irakoze (Burlington, Vt.) to make the score over Paul Smith's (4-3, 2-2 YSCC) 2-0 at the half.
2nd Half: The Badgers scored quick in the second half with a goal from Campbell. Buonanno scored twice in one minute to make it 5-0 with just over 30 minutes left in regulation. Caforia scored the last goal in the 75th minute to make the final score 6-0 for Johnson.

Gerrit Lane (Moretown, Vt.) picked up the win for Johnson, saving all four of Paul Smith's shots. Thatcher Morrison was given the loss, allowing six goals on eight shots.
The Badgers are back in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play when they travel to Maine Maritime next Saturday, September 30th with kick off set for 1:00 PM.
