JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College women's basketball team fell to New England College 83-39 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Carter Gym.
The Badgers drop to 0-7 (0-4 NAC) on the season while the Pilgrims move to 5-2 (2-1 NAC).
The teams were evenly matched through the first quarter, trading the lead back-and-forth. The Pilgrims took a 12-8 lead into the second after Rene Hudson hit a three at the buzzer.
NEC started the second on a 9-0 run, holding Johnson scoreless through the first five minutes of the quarter. The Pilgrims continued to pile it on through the period and took a 43-15 lead into the break.
The Badgers kept pace through most of the third, before NEC rattled off seven points in the final minute to bring their lead to 62-27 after three.
The Pilgrims put Johnson away in the fourth, taking the 83-39 victory.
