MILTON, Mass. - The Johnson State College women's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season to Curry College on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference game. Kylie Aither (Hyde Park, Vt.) netted her fifth goal of the season in the loss.
1st Half: Curry (4-0) struck first in the third minute to take an early 1-0 lead. Soleil Galagarza sent Korinna Tsonis a through ball which she collected and sent past Johnson (2-1) goaltender Kaila Lemmer (Barnard, Vt.). The Colonels Lexi Revis netted the eventual game-winner after she dribbled past a Badger defender and shot low into the back of the net.
2nd Half: Johnson cut Curry's lead to one as they opened the half with a score in the 53rd minute. Aither netted a goal off an assist from Jaden Gray (Clinton, Maine). The Colonels answered back four minutes later when Amanda Crisfulla earned her first of two assists on the day after she was awarded a corner kick. Crisfulla gave Isabella Shields a pass who one-timed into the back of the net for her first collegiate goal. Two minutes later Crisfulla helped on Tsonis's second tally of the game. Curry added two more in the final 11 minutes to take the 6-1 win.

Lemmer (2-1) suffered the loss despite 25 saves, allowing four goals on 29 shots in 76 minutes of work. She was relieved for the final 14 minutes by Mia Blackwell (Eastham, Mass.), who gave up two goals on four shots. Kristen Buzzotta (4-0) earned the victory in goal for the Colonels with three saves before giving way to Katelyn DeMaio who faced zero shots and Haley Rice who stopped one.
Johnson will travel to Newbury on Sunday, September 10th for a 1:00 p.m. match.
