JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's soccer program and Head Coach Andrew Lafrenz recently received commitment from Maggie Egan for the 2019 season.

Maggie comes to Northern Vermont University-Johnson from Sugar Hill, New Hampshire. Maggie a member of the Profile School in Bethlehem, New Hampshire.

Maggie plans to pursue a degree in Business Administration and minoring in Sustainability. "The reason why I am majoring and minoring in these Business and Sustainability degrees is that one day I would like to run my own sustainable fashion business to help make the earth a cleaner place", Said Egan. Northern Vermont University-Johnson was the perfect fit for Maggie all along. The location, community and academics were all things that stuck out to Maggie and proved to be deciding factors for her.

"I chose NVU-Johnson mainly for the academic fit, location and great sense of community. I had the opportunity to sit in on one of NVU-Johnsons sports media class and immediately I knew this was the best environment for me to gain my college education. The small class sizes and teachers who engage the students and want them to excel in their studies was ideal for me. Another appealing factor is how close I will be to the bustling city of Burlington. Being so close to the city gives me more opportunities which allows me to gain more freedom and have new experiences". Maggie continued by saying " I still will be relatively close to home and the area I grew up in, which is another value of mine in choosing a college. Other than the location and academics, NVU-Johnson has a strong encouraging community that I can't wait to be a part of. The friendliness of the students and teachers was apparent as soon as I stepped on campus. Overall, NVU-Johnson was a just right fit for me".

Maggie is excited to follow her dreams of playing soccer at the collegiate level and is happy to play for Coach Lafrenz." For the longest time I have always wanted to play soccer in college and to have the opportunity to join the Badger Athletic Family makes me truly happy. I take pride in being part of this family and can't wait to grow my athletic abilities through such a great community".

Maggie has been a member of Coach Lafrenz summer soccer camps and knew from the start that this was the school for her. "When I first met Coach Lafrenz, I realized that he was extremely charismatic and only wanted the best for every one of his players. This is exactly what I want in a coach because I want to make sure when I am transitioning into a new team or environment, I want to feel welcomed and believe I can strive to great lengths to achieve what I want". "I have not only had the opportunity to watch Coach Lafrenz coach his players in a few games, but I have also had the opportunity to have him coach me during two of the soccer camps at Johnson. During the camp, he gave me vital feedback that made a strong impact on my soccer skill set. I am extremely excited to have him as my coach for this new year of soccer for me".
