JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College volleyball team fell to Lyndon State College 3-0 in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening at Carter Gym.
Lyndon (2-10, 1-2 NAC) started strong with a 25-10 set win, preventing Johnson (0-12, 0-3 NAC) from stringing together multiple points in a row and going on two 5-0 runs through the set.
The Hornets jumped out to a 6-1 lead to start the set, but the Badgers hung around within five through most of the set. Lyndon was able to pull away at the end and took a 25-18 win.
The teams traded the lead through the opening part of the third set. After Johnson was able to pull the score to 18-17 in favor of Lyndon, the Hornets went on a 7- 3 run to take the 25-20 victory.
Johnson will travel to Green Mountain on Saturday for matches against Green Mountain, UMaine-Presque Isle and SUNY Delhi.
