The Badgers Men's Soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision on the road to Vermont State Castleton in a competitive matchup on Tuesday evening.
SUMMARY
The Badgers battled in a closely-contested physical game, but a pair of second-half goals from Castleton proved to be the difference in a 3-1 loss. Josiah Phillips scored for Johnson, while Lucas Gehring and Aiden Briggs combined for six saves in goal.
Following Castleton's 7th minute goal, Johnson responded quickly. Phillips found the back of the net in the 12th minute off a perfectly-placed assist from Mohammed Semega that guided Phillips past Castleton's defense, leveling the match at 1-1. The Badgers continued to apply pressure, with Carter Hubley and Owen Marchessault each forcing early saves from Castleton's keeper.
