Lamonde, a Hingham, Mass. native, has been selected as the NAC's first men's cross country Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year. The Environmental Science major is being recognized for excelling academically and athletically throughout his undergraduate experience. Off of the race course, he serves as the President of the Johnson State Science Club, he is a member of National Science and Research Society for college students, and completed a summer internship under a student research grant working for the state of Vermont researching wildlife corridors. He has also served as a peer tutor and academic coach for science and math for three years and as a member of the Johnson State Student Athlete Advisory Committee, including a one-year term as President. This season, his top-three races were an eighth place finish at the Johnson State College Invitational (30:18) and a ninth place finish at both the Castleton Invitational (29:55) and the Green Mountain College Invitational (29:15). |
New to the conference this season is the selection of a Sportsmanship Team which is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior.
