Vermont State Johnson swept a conference softball doubleheader against Vermont State Lyndon on Wednesday afternoon at Minaert Field, earning 18-4 and 15-5 victories to close out the series.

SUMMARY

Vermont State Johnson delivered an offensive clinic in the opening game of the doubleheader, scoring 18 runs in just five innings to secure an 18-4 win. The Badgers wasted no time asserting control, erupting for 11 runs in the first inning and following with seven more in the second to put the contest out of reach early.

 

Audrey Tembreull paced the lineup with a standout performance, going 3‑for‑5 with a triple and driving in five runs. Kristie Zator added a dominant day at the plate, finishing 3‑for‑4 with two doubles, a home run, and four RBIs, while Taylor Reddick contributed three hits and three RBIs from the middle of the order. In the circle, Hannah Corvino earned the complete‑game win, striking out eight while allowing six hits and four runs across five innings.

 

The Badgers carried their momentum into Game 2, posting another decisive 15-5 victory behind consistent pressure at the plate and timely hitting. After trading runs early, Johnson broke the game open with a seven‑run third inning and added four more in the fourth, scoring in four of the game's five innings.

 

Hannah Corvino continued her strong day with a 2‑for‑4 outing that included a double and three RBIs, while Kristie Zator, Taylor Reddick, and Nikki Sweet each recorded multi‑hit performances to fuel the offense. Madyson Stingle picked up the win in the circle, working a complete five innings and striking out six to close out the sweep.
