Jakiela, Aither and Hutchinson Earn All-Conference Honors

At the conclusion of their season, Johnson State senior Alexa Jakiela was voted the Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year while sophomore Kylie Aither earned second team honors and Casey Hutchinson was named to the Sportsmanship Team.

NAC All-Conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches.

Jakiela, a Middlebury, Conn. Native, has been selected as the NAC's first women's soccer Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year. She is being recognized for excelling academically and athletically throughout her undergraduate experience. The Art Education and Secondary Licensure major is a leading example of what it means to be a Division III student-athlete by making the most out of her undergraduate experience. Jakiela has earned numerous scholarships in her time at Johnson State for her academic excellence, community involvement, leadership, and dedication to her future profession. She has been selected to receive the Presidential Leadership Scholarship three years in a row at Johnson, the JSC Community Service Scholarship, the JSC Student Association Community Scholarship, the Follett College Stores Scholarship, and the Mark and Star Heinrich Scholarship for outstanding education majors two years in a row. The senior also serves as an active member of the Johnson Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Jakiela appeared in 56 games for the Badgers, while netting 13 goals and dishing 10 assists over her four year career. Her knack for setting her teammates up for shots didn't stop her from taking her own as she tallied 114 shots over her career.
