Soraya Dominguez Joins Women's Soccer

The VTSU Johnson Women's Soccer rosters grows with the addition of Forward/Wing commit, Soraya Dominguez, for the fall 2025 season. Hailing from Reno, NV, Dominguez was a force for her high school team, where she was a two-time honors award recipient, while dominating the field for the Sierra Surf club team. The projected Health Science major brings with her a passion for soccer, family, and what it means to be a Badger.

Adds Coach Norm Peterson, " When I first met Soraya, I was impressed with her maturity, calmness, and preparedness – she asked great questions and has a clear vision of where she wants to go in life. We are delighted she chose us to help her reach her goals! Soraya is a determined athlete and we are looking forward to her adding her strength, speed and tenacity to our attack this fall. Today is a great day to be a Badger!"

What do you want people to know about you? Hey, my name is Soraya. I have been playing soccer since I was seven. I am a Chicana from the West Coast and Tepatitlan Mexico. In my free time, I go to California's beaches with my mom and her dog. I love food and traveling. My role models are my Grandma Penny and Mother. I have two sisters, Yazmine and Mariah. I am the oldest. My little sister Mariah passed away, but I feel her love every day. I am excited to move across the country and become independent, learn new things, meet new people, and try new food!
