The Badgers Women's Volleyball team took a decisive victory on the road, against Norwich. A three-set sweep sees Johnson enter Sunday's tournament matchups against Lyndon and Castleton with strong momentum.
SUMMARY
The Johnson Badgers played as if they'd taken no time off, handing the Norwich Cadets a three-set sweep while on the road. Max Ludlow led the Badgers in points with 15, while first-year Sepphyre Lepega-Telona added nine in her collegiate debut. Alana Lewis returned to the court for the Badgers and picked up where she left off, adding eight points and leading the Badgers in digs, with 12.
After opening the match evenly, going point-for-point to reaching five apiece, an eight-point run combined with several multi-point turns shifted the momentum in Johnson's favor, extending their lead to double digits at 16-6. The teams would remain relatively even for the remainder of the first, closing with a score of 25-13.
The following set would commence in similar fashion, remaining even up to 6-6 before the Badgers unleashed a six-point run that saw first-years Connie Kuang, Tatum Kalahiki, and Haylee Hansen all contributing kills. While the Cadets would come back within four points, multiple kills from Ludlow would secure the set, 25-14, for Johnson.
The Badgers remained composed in the third, even while trailing 11-7 in a would-be final set. Lepega-Telona was clutch for the Badgers, contributing three kills en route to evening the set at 13 apiece. Johnson would not relent the lead moving forward, closing the match with a 25-20 final set.
